New House Financing Options
A house and land package gives you access to a variety of builder and government led financing schemes. The First Home Buyers Assistance Scheme grants a transfer duty exemption for property purchases for $800,000 or less. Purchases worth between $800,000 and $1 million are required to pay a reduced transfer duty rate. No transfer duty is charged if an individual buys vacant land worth $350,000 or less. For eligibility, you must move into the home within 12 months of settlement date for an existing home or 12 months from the date on which a new home was completed.
